Membership of IIROSA in the International and Regional Organizations

IIROSA is an international popular organization that works in the field of relief and development. It is a member in more than sixteen councils, organizations, initiatives, forums, unions, offices and committees on the international and regional levels as follows:

1.    Constituent Member of the International Islamic Council for Da`wa and Relief (IICDR); 1408H (1988).
2.    Member of the Presiding Committee of IICDR; 1408H (1988).
3.    Member of some Permanent Committees of IICDR: Education & Da’wa, Information & Watch, Media & Publishing, Youth, Africa, Al-Quds & Palestine, Thought & Theology, and International Islamic Committee for Woman and Child; in addition, it chairs the General Relief Committee of IICDR since it was found in 1988.
4.    Member of UN ECOSOC; 1415H (1995).
5.    Member of the General Assembly of Conference of Non-Governmental Organizations (CONGO) and elected twice for the membership of its Board of Directors in 1423H (2003) and 1428H (2007).
6.    Observer Member of International Organization for Migration (IOM); it was the first Islamic NGO to gain this membership.
7.    Founding Member of the Union of NGOs of the Islamic World (UNIW), Turkey; 1426H (2006).
8.    Founding Member of  International Bureau of Humanitarian NGOs (IBH), France; 1428H (2007).
9.    Founding Member of the Union of World Organization for Relief in Iraq, Turkey; 1426H (2006).
10.    Founding Member of the International Islamic Forum of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC); 1429H (2008).
11.    Member of Arab Network for NGOs, Egypt; 1422H (2002).
12.    Member of the Arab Council for Childhood and Development (ACCD); 1420H (2000).
13.    Member of Arab Network for Gulf NGOs, Qatar; 1425H (2004).
14.    Member of the Committee for the Coordination of Joint Islamic Action of OIC; 1411H (1990).
15.    Observer Member of OIC, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; 1411H (1990).
16.    Observer Member of the Islamic Da'wa Organization, Sudan; 1410H (1989).

International Cooperation and Partnerships


IIROSA has established cooperation and partnership relationships with more than 13 international, regional and UN organizations. IIROSA made many agreements of partnership and cooperation to implement relief, development, health and environmental projects around the world, especially in countries that suffer from poverty and disasters. Some of these projects are as follows:

1.    Cooperation with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in the following countries: Saudi Arabia, Tanzania, Kenya, Mali and Afghanistan.
2.    Cooperation with World Food Program (WFP) in the following countries: Kenya, Tanzania, Mozambique, Sierra Leone and Sudan (Darfur).
3.    Cooperation with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO): Distribution of food assistance to displaced people because of war in Sierra Leone, 1977.
4.    Cooperation with the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) in Iraq and Saudi Arabia.
5.    Cooperation with World Health Organization (WHO): in Afghanistan, Egypt, Jordan, Pakistan, Sudan, Morocco, Tunisia and Yemen.
6.    Two cooperation agreements with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) in education, health, accommodation as well as supplying medical equipment to Al Shaboura Medical Center in Gaza, June, 2010.
7.    Cooperation with the German HELP Organization in the following countries: Somalia, Azerbaijan, Iraq (Kurdistan) and Bangladesh.
8.    Cooperation with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) in health, relief and development projects in Palestine. Such cooperation created employment opportunities for thousands of unemployed Palestinians in 1429H (2008).
9.    Cooperation with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in curricular, education and experience exchange.
10.    Cooperation with the American Global Vision Organization: Preparation of residential buildings of the repatriation camp (2) in Sumqayit, Azerbaijan, 1414H (1994).
11.    Cooperation with the International Relief & Development organization (IRD): Provision of clothes and blankets for the displaced people in Azerbaijan, 1414H (1994).
12.    Cooperation with the American CAIR organization: Building a center for food distribution in Sierra Leone. IIROSA undertook food preparation and distribution to the displaced people in camps because of the civil war.
13.    Cooperation with the Arab Red Crescent & Red Cross Organization in training and experience exchange.
14.    Cooperation with the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) in curricular, education and experience exchange.
15.    Participation in the World Bank conference, Chad: IIROSA was given the title of the best Islamic and Arab NGO working in rural development in Chad. It was chosen as one of the best international NGOs in the mentioned field during a workshop organized by the Chadian government in cooperation with the World Bank aimed to review the efforts of international NGOs in rural development and relevant policies. IIROSA was the only invited Islamic and Arab NGO. It presented a worksheet titled "Citizen's Role in Action: Development via Capacity Provided by NGOs." The paper presented IIROSA's efforts and role in providing opportunities to citizens via its charity projects by creating more than one hundred jobs. Participants complimented IIROSA's worksheet.
16.    Cooperation with the Islamic Sheikhdom in Bosnia-Herzegovina through which IIROSA supplies development projects and programs to the people of Bosnia-Herzegovina, June, 2009.
17.    Memorandum of understanding with the Union Arabic Research Council to strengthen and develop cooperation, September, 2009.
18.    Cooperation with the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC), for providing medical, social, educational, developmental and Da'wa assistance, October, 2009.
19.     Cooperation with the Islamic Sheikhdom in Serbia through which IIROSA supplies development projects and programs to the people of Serbia, January, 2010.
20.    Memorandum of understanding with the Palestinian Authority Government for preparation and implementation of relief, developmental, educational, cultural and health projects, as well as building human capacities in the Palestinian Territories, June, 2010.
21.    The Board of Directors approved in its meeting No. M-197-24-32, dated 28/03/1432H, corresponding to 03/03/2011 concluding a cooperation agreement with the World Health Organization (WHO) for organizing an International Conference on Nutrition, where IIROSA will contribute 120 thousand American Dollars.
22.    The Board of Directors approved in its meeting No. M-197-24-32, dated 28/03/1432H, corresponding to 03/03/2011 concluding a cooperation agreement with the World Health Organization (WHO) for fighting blindness in Afghanistan, where IIROSA will contribute 278 thousand American Dollars.
23.    The Board of Directors approved in its meeting No. M-198-24-32, dated 28/03/1432H, corresponding to 03/03/2011 concluding a cooperation agreement with Makkah Orphans Care Society, in support of the Society objectives to serve the community.
24.    The Board of Directors approved in its meeting No. M-198-24-32, dated 28/03/1432H, corresponding to 03/03/2011 concluding a cooperation agreement with the AIDS Patients Society in Jeddah, in support of the objectives of community service societies.
25.    The Board of Directors approved in its meeting No. M-199-24-32, dated 28/03/1432H, corresponding to 03/03/2011 organizing an international conference in Geneva, under IIROSA auspices, titled "Immigration and its social, economic, health, psychological, cultural, and security impact, as well as, human rights.
